ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੀਬ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਵੈਸਾਖ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਨਮਾਸ਼ੀ ਦਿਨ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ 24 ਮਈ 1717 ਈ: ਨੂੰ ਪਿੰਡ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੋਹਤਕ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਇਆ।ਇਹ ਪਿੰਡ ਬਹਾਦਰਗੜ੍ਹ ਤੋ 19 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਤੋ 12 ਸਾਲ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਕ ਸਿੱਧ ਧੋਗੀ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ। ਆਪ ਦੇ ਨਾਨਾ ਜੀ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਾਲ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਧੀਆਂ ਇਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਕਰੌਂਥਾ ਦੂਜੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਆਸੌਦਾ ਵਿਆਹੀਆ ਸਨ। ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਾਨਾ ਜੀ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਦਾਦਾ ਜੀ ਹਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਘਰ ਜਵਾਈ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਰਖਣ ਲਈ ਲੈ ਆਏ। ਆਪ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਪਿੰਡ ਬਰੌਣਾ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸੋਨੀਪਤ ਦੇ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਨਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਪੁਤਰੀ ਮੋਹਿਨੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ। ਇਥੇ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਚਾਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜੈਤ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ, ਤੁਰਤੀ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ, ਆਸ਼ਾ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ, ਅੰਗਦ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਧੀਆਂ ਦਿਲ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ।
ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੇ ਫਰਖੁਰਸੀਅਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਸੀ। 1719 ਈ. ਨੂੰ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਰੰਗੀਲੇ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ। ਜਿਸਦਾ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਵਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸਗੋ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਪਤੀ, ਨਸ਼ੇ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾ ਤੋ ਜ਼ਬਰੀ ਕਰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਲਾਸ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਧਾਰਮਿਕ, ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਕਦਰਾ ਕੀਮਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰੀ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਆ ਚੁਕੀ ਸੀ। ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਮ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਵੀ ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਧਰਮ ਵਲ ਜਾਣ ਲਗ ਪਏ ਸਨ।
ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਕੂਲੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਰਮਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਾਥੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਗਊਆਂ ਚਰਾਉਣ ਜਾਦੇ ਸਨ। ਫੱਗਣ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਕਲ ਪੱਖ ਦੂਜ ਸੰਨ 1728 ਈ. ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਬਿ੍ਰਛ ਦੀ ਛਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਦਾ ਮਿਹਰਾ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇ ਹੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਔਸਰ ਵੱਛੀ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਧ ਛਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਬਚਿਆ ਦੁੱਧ ਅਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਜਗਤਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਬਾ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਵਿਚ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ। ਸਮਾਧੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਿਆ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਚਿਖਾ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਅੱਗ ਦੇਣ ਤੋ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਲਗ ਗਏ।
ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਗਰੀਬਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਲਾਉਦੇ ਸਨ। ਗੁਰੁ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਉਮਰ ਤੋ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕਾ ਪਰਚੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੇਠਾ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਰਜੁਨ ਸੁਰਜਨ ਦਾ 5 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਬਾਲਕ ਮਲੂਕਾ ਦੇ ਸੱਟ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਰਾ ਦਿਖਾਉਣਾ।
ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਖੂਹ ਲਾਉਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਦੱਸਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਟੇਢੀ ਖੂਹੀ ਸਿਧੀ ਕਰਨੀ।
ਗਊਆ ਦੇ ਫਸਲ ਉਜਾੜਨ ਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਦੇ ਦੇਖਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਰਾ ਭਰਾ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਬੋਦੀ ਦਾਸ ਫਕੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਿਰਤਿ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਯੋਗ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਣਾ।
ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਘੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਭਰ ਜਾਣਾ।
ਦੋ ਰੂਪ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਗ਼ਢ ਮੁਕਤੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਗੰਗਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਮੇ ਹੀ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਗਊਆ ਚਾਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਗਾ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਸਾਰੰਗੀ ਬਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਫੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਯੋਗੀ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ।
ਨੂਰਹਸਨ ਅਲੀ ਖਾਂ ਨਵਾਬ ਝੱਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਗੋਬਰ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਭੇਜੇ ਦਾ ਘਿਉ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ।
ਨੌ ਯੋਗੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਦਾ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਆਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਸ ਯੋਗੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਛਕਾਉਣਾ।
1738 ਈ. ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨਦਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਾ। ਨਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਜਤ, ਗਊ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਕਰ ਮਾਫ ਕਰਨਾ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੇ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ। ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਬੰਦ ਛੁਡਾ ਲੈਣੀ।
ਫਰੂਖਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਜਗੀਰਦਾਰ ਮਸਾਵੀ ਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਜਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਪੈਰ ਚੱਟਣੇ।
ਝੋਝੂ ਕਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਸਹਾਇ ਦਾ ਪੈਂਦ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਹਾਣੇ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਪਾਉਣਾ।
ਸੰਨ 1743 ਈ. ਵਿਚ ਮਾਤਾ ਰਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੰਗਾ ਵਹਾ ਕੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ।
ਡਾਕੂ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਗੋਲੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਲਗਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ।
ਭਗਤ ਹਰਲਾਲ ਦਾ ਕਈ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਸ਼ਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਭਗਤ ਤੋਖਾ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਸਰੂਪ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੋਰਾ ਤੋਲਣਾ।
ਕਾਲ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੋਖਾ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਬਾਜਰੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਊ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨੀ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਗੰਗਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ
ਸਿੱਧ ਜੋਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾ ਦੇ ਗੰਗਾ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਧਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਖੱਪਰ ਭਰਨਾ।
35 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਥਲ ਬੋਹਰ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਧ ਮਸਤਨਾਥ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਸਤਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਰੂਪ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਅਟਕਲੀ ਦਾਸ ਮਹੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਠੀ ਮਾਲਾ,ਤਿਲਕ,ਜਨੇਊ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਪੂਜਾ ਛੱਡਣ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਮਰਾਇ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਤੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਕਮਰ ਦੀ ਧੋਤੀ ਨਾ ਲਾ ਹੋਣਾ।
ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਲਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਕਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਾਸ਼ੀ ਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਰਚਿਆ ਪਖੰਡ ਹਟਾਉਣਾ।
ਭਰਤਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੂਰਜਮਲ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਬਾਅਦ ਝਗੜਾ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾ ਥਾਪਨਾ।
ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਹਾਂਡੀ ਭੜੰਗਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ਦਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਮਝਾਉਣਾ।
ਸੰਮਤ 1820 ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਵਰਸ਼ਾ ਪਵਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਲ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਸੰਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਚ ਪਤਨੀ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਬਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਨੱਚਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਚੰਪਾ ਕਲੀ ਨੂੰ 500 ਅਤੇ ਮਨੀ ਰਾਮ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਹ ਰੁਪੈ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਾ
ਸੰਤ ਬਨਖੰਡੀ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਹਿਣਾ।
ਸੰਤ ਠੰਡੀ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਬਾਜਰੇ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਣ ਨਾ ਆੳਣਾ।
ਇਕ ਚੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਜੂਠੇ ਛਿਲਕੇ ਚੂਸ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਦਿ੍ਰਸ਼ਟੀ ਖੁਲ ਜਾਣਾ ਤੇ ਚੌਬੀ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਦਸਣਾ।
ਸਾਧੂ ਹੁਲਾਸੀਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਗਿਆਨ ਚਰਚਾ ਜੈਤ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਤ ਹੈ।
ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਤੋ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ, ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਪਾਖੰਡ ਤੋ ਦੂਰ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਦਰ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ।
ਦਾਦੂ ਪੰਥੀ ਸੰਤ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਨ 1740 ਈ. ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਣਾ ਸੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸੰਨ 1777 ਈ. ਲਗਪਗ 37 ਸਾਲ ਤਕ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਰਚਨਾ ਹੋਈ। ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸਿਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ 17500 ਤੋ 24000 ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਹਨ। ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਚਾਰ ਮੁੱਖ ਭਾਗ ਹਨ। 1. ਅੰਗ ਭਾਗ 2. ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਭਾਗ 3. ਪਦ ਭਾਗ 4. ਰਾਗ ਭਾਗ
1. ਅੰਗ ਭਾਗ; ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂਦੇਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ ਤੋ ਫੁਟਕਰ ਸਾਖੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ ਤਕ 61 ਅੰਗ ਹਨ।
2. ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਭਾਗ: ਇਸ ਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ 43 ਸਿਰਲੇਖਾ ਹੇਠ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਛੰਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਣੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ।
3. ਪਦ ਭਾਗ: 15 ਸਿਰਲੇਖਾ ਸਵੈਯੇ,ਰੇਖਤੇ,ਝੂਲਨੇ,ਝੂਮਕਰਾ,ਰਮੈਣੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਂਤ ਇਸ ਚ ਹਨ।
4. ਰਾਗ ਭਾਗ: ਇਸ ਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ 49 ਰਾਗ ਹਨ।
22 ਅੰਗ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਹਨ। ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਕੁਲ ਜਨਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾ ਕਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇ। ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਅਸੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾ। ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮ,ਕ੍ਰੋਧ,ਲੋਭ,ਮੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਵੇ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂੁ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਚਲਦਾ ਰਹੇ ਟੁਟੇ ਨਾ। ਬਾਬਾ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸਲੋਕ ਹੈ।
ਗਰੀਬ, ਜੈਸੇ ਹਾਲੀ ਬੀਜ ਧੁੰਨ, ਪੰਥੀ ਸੇ ਬਤਲਾਏ।
ਜਾਮੇ ਖੰਡ ਪਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੁਖ ਸੇ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਏ॥

ਹੰਸ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਭਵਜਲ ਤਾਰਨ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਏ ਥੇ ਲੋਈ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਫੱਗਣ ਸੁਦੀ ਦੁਆਦਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੇ ਛੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਿਸ ਤੋ ਛੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਪ ਭਾਦੋਂ ਸੁਦੀ ਦੂਜ 29 ਅਗਸਤ ਦਿਨ ਸ਼ਨਿਚਰਵਾਰ 1778 ਈ. ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾ ਗਏ। ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਗਵਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੁਰਤੀ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਬਿੰਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਅਗੇ ਤੋਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੇ 20 ਚੇਲੇ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਾਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਚਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਮਾਨਵਤਾ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਚਾਨਣ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਨ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਤੀਵਾਦ, ਭੇਸ਼ਵਾਦ, ਪਾਖੰਡਵਾਦ, ਹਿੰਸਾ, ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਣਾ,ਮੂਰਤੀ ਪੂਜਾ, ਨਸ਼ੇ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਜਾਰੀਵਾਦ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁਧ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਸਹੀ ਮਾਰਗ ਦਰਸਾਇਆਂ ਹੈ। ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਿਰਬਾਹ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ।
ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੇ ਫਰਖੁਰਸੀਅਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਸੀ। 1719 ਈ. ਨੂੰ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਰੰਗੀਲੇ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ। ਜਿਸਦਾ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਵਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸਗੋ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਪਤੀ, ਨਸ਼ੇ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾ ਤੋ ਜ਼ਬਰੀ ਕਰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਲਾਸ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਧਾਰਮਿਕ, ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਕਦਰਾ ਕੀਮਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰੀ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਆ ਚੁਕੀ ਸੀ। ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਮ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਵੀ ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਧਰਮ ਵਲ ਜਾਣ ਲਗ ਪਏ ਸਨ।
ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਕੂਲੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਰਮਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਾਥੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਗਊਆਂ ਚਰਾਉਣ ਜਾਦੇ ਸਨ। ਫੱਗਣ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਕਲ ਪੱਖ ਦੂਜ ਸੰਨ 1728 ਈ. ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਬਿ੍ਰਛ ਦੀ ਛਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਦਾ ਮਿਹਰਾ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇ ਹੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਔਸਰ ਵੱਛੀ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਧ ਛਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਬਚਿਆ ਦੁੱਧ ਅਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਜਗਤਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਬਾ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਵਿਚ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ। ਸਮਾਧੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਿਆ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਚਿਖਾ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਅੱਗ ਦੇਣ ਤੋ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਲਗ ਗਏ।
ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਗਰੀਬਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਲਾਉਦੇ ਸਨ। ਗੁਰੁ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਉਮਰ ਤੋ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕਾ ਪਰਚੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੇਠਾ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਰਜੁਨ ਸੁਰਜਨ ਦਾ 5 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਬਾਲਕ ਮਲੂਕਾ ਦੇ ਸੱਟ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਰਾ ਦਿਖਾਉਣਾ।
ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਖੂਹ ਲਾਉਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਦੱਸਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਟੇਢੀ ਖੂਹੀ ਸਿਧੀ ਕਰਨੀ।
ਗਊਆ ਦੇ ਫਸਲ ਉਜਾੜਨ ਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਦੇ ਦੇਖਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਰਾ ਭਰਾ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਬੋਦੀ ਦਾਸ ਫਕੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਿਰਤਿ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਯੋਗ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਣਾ।
ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਘੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਭਰ ਜਾਣਾ।
ਦੋ ਰੂਪ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਗ਼ਢ ਮੁਕਤੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਗੰਗਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਮੇ ਹੀ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਗਊਆ ਚਾਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਗਾ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਸਾਰੰਗੀ ਬਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਫੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਯੋਗੀ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ।
ਨੂਰਹਸਨ ਅਲੀ ਖਾਂ ਨਵਾਬ ਝੱਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਗੋਬਰ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਭੇਜੇ ਦਾ ਘਿਉ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ।
ਨੌ ਯੋਗੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਦਾ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਆਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਸ ਯੋਗੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਛਕਾਉਣਾ।
1738 ਈ. ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨਦਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਾ। ਨਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਜਤ, ਗਊ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਕਰ ਮਾਫ ਕਰਨਾ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੇ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ। ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਬੰਦ ਛੁਡਾ ਲੈਣੀ।
ਫਰੂਖਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਜਗੀਰਦਾਰ ਮਸਾਵੀ ਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਜਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਪੈਰ ਚੱਟਣੇ।
ਝੋਝੂ ਕਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਸਹਾਇ ਦਾ ਪੈਂਦ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਹਾਣੇ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਪਾਉਣਾ।
ਸੰਨ 1743 ਈ. ਵਿਚ ਮਾਤਾ ਰਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੰਗਾ ਵਹਾ ਕੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ।
ਡਾਕੂ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਗੋਲੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਲਗਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ।
ਭਗਤ ਹਰਲਾਲ ਦਾ ਕਈ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਸ਼ਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਭਗਤ ਤੋਖਾ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਸਰੂਪ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੋਰਾ ਤੋਲਣਾ।
ਕਾਲ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੋਖਾ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਬਾਜਰੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਊ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨੀ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾਣੀ ਗੰਗਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ
ਸਿੱਧ ਜੋਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾ ਦੇ ਗੰਗਾ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਧਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਖੱਪਰ ਭਰਨਾ।
35 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਥਲ ਬੋਹਰ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਧ ਮਸਤਨਾਥ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਸਤਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਰੂਪ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਅਟਕਲੀ ਦਾਸ ਮਹੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਠੀ ਮਾਲਾ,ਤਿਲਕ,ਜਨੇਊ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਪੂਜਾ ਛੱਡਣ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਮਰਾਇ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਤੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਕਮਰ ਦੀ ਧੋਤੀ ਨਾ ਲਾ ਹੋਣਾ।
ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਲਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਕਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਾਸ਼ੀ ਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਰਚਿਆ ਪਖੰਡ ਹਟਾਉਣਾ।
ਭਰਤਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੂਰਜਮਲ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਬਾਅਦ ਝਗੜਾ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾ ਥਾਪਨਾ।
ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਹਾਂਡੀ ਭੜੰਗਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ਦਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਮਝਾਉਣਾ।
ਸੰਮਤ 1820 ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਵਰਸ਼ਾ ਪਵਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਲ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਸੰਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਚ ਪਤਨੀ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਬਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਨੱਚਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਚੰਪਾ ਕਲੀ ਨੂੰ 500 ਅਤੇ ਮਨੀ ਰਾਮ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਹ ਰੁਪੈ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਾ
ਸੰਤ ਬਨਖੰਡੀ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਹਿਣਾ।
ਸੰਤ ਠੰਡੀ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਬਾਜਰੇ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਣ ਨਾ ਆੳਣਾ।
ਇਕ ਚੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਜੂਠੇ ਛਿਲਕੇ ਚੂਸ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਦਿ੍ਰਸ਼ਟੀ ਖੁਲ ਜਾਣਾ ਤੇ ਚੌਬੀ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਦਸਣਾ।
ਸਾਧੂ ਹੁਲਾਸੀਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਗਿਆਨ ਚਰਚਾ ਜੈਤ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਤ ਹੈ।
ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਤੋ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ, ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਪਾਖੰਡ ਤੋ ਦੂਰ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਦਰ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ।

22 ਅੰਗ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਹਨ। ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਕੁਲ ਜਨਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾ ਕਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇ। ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਅਸੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾ। ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮ,ਕ੍ਰੋਧ,ਲੋਭ,ਮੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਵੇ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂੁ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਚਲਦਾ ਰਹੇ ਟੁਟੇ ਨਾ। ਬਾਬਾ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸਲੋਕ ਹੈ।

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੀਬਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਫੱਗਣ ਸੁਦੀ ਦੁਆਦਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੇ ਛੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਮਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਿਸ ਤੋ ਛੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਪ ਭਾਦੋਂ ਸੁਦੀ ਦੂਜ 29 ਅਗਸਤ ਦਿਨ ਸ਼ਨਿਚਰਵਾਰ 1778 ਈ. ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾ ਗਏ। ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਗਵਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੁਰਤੀ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਬਿੰਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਅਗੇ ਤੋਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੇ 20 ਚੇਲੇ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਾਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਚਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

Birth of Satguru Garib Das ji was on full moon night of vaisaakh Monday May 24,1717 in village chhudani distt. Rohtak Haryana. This village is 19 k.m.from bahadargarh. 12 years after the marriage of father balram singh and mother rani devi ji, Satguru Garib Das Ji was born by blessings of a yogi. Your Naanaa Ji Shiv Lal ji (Father of your mother) had no son, only two daugters one was married in village Karountha and second was in village Asouda. So Shiv lal ji request your grand father Hardev singh ji to take your father with him to live in village Chhudani. You got married with mohini devi daughter of choudhary Ninder singh of village barouna distt sonipat. After marriage you had four sons Jait ram ji, Turti ram ji, Asha ram ji, Angad ram ji and two daughters Dil kaur ji and Gian kaur ji.
At birth time farkhursiar was the king of Delhi. In 1719 Muhanmad Shah rangila become the king of Delhi, who did not worry to take care of his public but was more interested in sexual activities, to take drugs and to take tax forcefully. Religious temples were used like sexual centers. Religious, political and social characters were not good and that were in too much downfall. In this situation a common Hindu were going to become a muslim.
There is no available information if Guru ji did go to a school. Every day guru ji use to take cows to field to feed them in field with his friends. In 1728. Month of faggan second day of moon light, guru ji was sit in meditation under the shadow of a tree. At that time guru ji saw a light of Kabir Sahib and they blessed Garib Das ji with a lesson of true knowledge. At that time with blessings of Kabir Sahib a virgin cow gave milk. Kabir Sahib Ji drank the milk and Guru Ji drank rest of the milk. After that guru ji went to meditation and looks like as dead. When people put him for cremation, Guru Ji wake up and started Bani Path.

Nawab Masavi khan of farookhnager put guru ji in the cabon of a lion. Then the loin touched to guru ji feet in love.
Choudhary Ram Sahaie of farookhnager could not decide head and tail of guru ji bed.
In 1743. Mother Rani was to take bath in gangaa flowing in Chhudani.
